Split the Tab! uses limited first-party analytics during the Public Beta to understand whether the app is useful and which features people care about.
We collect
- An anonymous browser-session identifier.
- Your Split the Tab! account ID when you are signed in.
- Product events such as starting a bill, reaching Summary, finalizing a bill, and expressing interest in a premium feature.
- Basic non-sensitive counts such as group size and number of itemized entries.
- Referral and campaign labels (for example,
utm_source,utm_medium,utm_campaign, and app referral type) so we can understand which promotions bring useful traffic. - Feedback you voluntarily submit through the beta feedback form.
We do not collect in beta analytics
- Bill or restaurant names.
- Person names entered in a bill.
- Item names or monetary amounts.
- Receipt images or OCR text.
- Precise GPS location.
- Payment information.
- Raw Google Ads click identifiers such as GCLID/GBRAID/WBRAID in our beta analytics database.
Google Ads measurement
When Google Ads measurement is active, the app loads the Google tag and sends conversion events when a bill first reaches Summary and when a bill is finalized. Google may process advertising identifiers, cookies, or similar browser signals according to Google’s own privacy practices. Split the Tab! does not copy raw Google Ads click identifiers into its beta analytics database.
Local data
Past Bills, unfinished drafts, and Favorite Groups remain in your current browser/device storage. They are not cloud-synchronized by the Public Beta.
Why we collect beta data
We use aggregate beta metrics to evaluate completion rates, repeat usage, feature interest, and feedback before deciding how the future Free, Plus, and Pro plans should work.
